| i have blue sparks and petrol in bowls (new) but still wont start on rt pair i have the occasional backfire but both exhausts cold cant think what to do next help please |

| You got your coils 2/3 on 1/4 in other words timing 180 degrees out |

| coils 1and2 working and starting immediatly on start up (no choke) 1and 2 exhaust hot 3and4 not ie stone cold i havnt changed coil leads position since it woked fine changed plugs 1 at a time? |

| Well 2/3 run on a seperate coil to 1/4, oh hang on, so 2/3 have a good spark, how did it conk out, been standing, how did it happen? |

| yes been standing for 4 months leg in plaster have rebuilt forks shocks new ngk twin sparks battery charged new gs 500 twin air filter new 97 octane petrol left side of engine starts ie 1/2, 3/4 bright spark fuel comes out of fuel bowl screws but no joy on rt side of engine |

| Just because the fuel comes out of the fuel bowl doesn't mean its getting to the cylinder, are the plugs wet? |

Does your bike get left on the side stand or center stand.. If side stand then i sometimes have this problem, The fuel drains from the 3&4th carbs and will cause it to do the same,
I now hod the bike upright and let the bowls fill for a while b4 starting.
If i open the thrrottle when i ty to start it, it stalls and wont run right and all the plugs need cleaning. ( i run 33mm smoothbores though).. But the problem sounds the same.
As it is two cylinders run by two seperate coils it seems like its the carbs at fault.

| had carbs ultrasonically cleaned cant beleive the difference starts straight away and runs better than it ever has thanks for help guys the kat purrs now and growls when it wants to |
